Our rival
FC Locomotive was established in 1936. It was Lokomotiv Voluntary Sports Society that united employees of the railway as well as students and pupils of educational institutions of railway ministry. The team plays home matches at Mikheil Meskhi stadium that is for 25 000 spectators. The main colors of the team are red and white. In 1988-1989 it was called OMC Locomotive, in 1990-1993 FC Merani and in 1993-1995, Lokomotivi merged with Merani and formed Merani-Bacho Tbilisi. Our rival played in USSR high (1993 and 1940), first (1939, 1946-1948, 1959-1970) and second leagues (1936-1937, 1981-1982, 1984-1986, 1988-1989). For the first time it played in Umaghlesi Liga in 1997. FC Locomotive won Georgian Cup thrice in 2000, 2002 and 2005 years. In 2001, 2002 and 1999 it won silver medals.
Coach and Locomotive
Since January 2014 Vasil Maisuradze is the head coach of FC Locomotive. Under his leadership the team moved to high league. From 36 matches the team gathered 68 points and took the second place in Pirveli Liga first group. It defeated FC Borjomi in penalties 4:2, as the match finished with draw 3:3. It overcame FC Metalurgi 5:0. Vasil Maisuradze trained Dinamo reserve and second teams in 2011-2013 years. He won championship with reserve team. He was the head coach of U17 and U19 teams.
Before Dinamo
FC Locomotive was on camp in Austria where it played several test-matches. It lost with Turkish football club Eskişehirspor 1:7, defeated Maccabi Petah Tikva F.C. 2:1 and lost with Al-Jazira Club 1:3. After that our rival defeated Nogometni Klub Celje 5:1, played draw with NGK Dinamo Zagreb second team 2:2. After returning in Georgia it defeated FC Sioni 3:1 in sparring match. In the first round of 27th national championship FC Locomotive lost against FC Chikhura in Ivantsminda with minimal score 0:1. It played the last match on Georgian Cup against FC Tskhinvali and lost it with the score 0:1.
