On February 22 quarter-final match of Georgian Cup will take place at Poladi stadium in Rustavi. Dinamo Tbilisi will compete with local team FC Metalurgi in the away match. The match will start at 14:00.
There are some changes in FC Metalurgi before the renewal of the season. Varlam Kilasonia was appointed as the head coach of the match and basic changed were made in the squad. The team was on camp in Turkey and played 4 test-matches. Our rival defeated FK Gazovik with the score 1:0. They also won against Romanian Targu Mures with the score 2:0. FC Metalurgi was defeated by Turkmenistan Nebitci (Balkan) -0:2 and played draw with Turnovo of Macedonia-1:1.
Our rival overcame two stages before the quarter-final. At first it defeated FC Gagra with the score 3:1 on aggregate (2:0 and 1:1) and afterwards it won against FC Kolkheti Poti in 1/8 final with the score 5:1 on aggregate (2:0 and 3:1)
Dinamo and Metalurgi have competed in semi-final in the last season as well. The match in Rustavi finished with the score 2:1 in favor of Metalurgi. Dinamo won the second leg with the score 5:0.
Dinamo Tbilisi has played two official matches on February 22 and both of them have finished in favor of our team 1:0. In 2006 Dinamo hosted FC Kakheti Telavi and won the match with Kobaidze’s auto-goal. In 2012 Dinamo hosted FC Sioni Bolnisi and defeated the rival with Irakli Dzaria’s goal.
