Today 40 years have passed from the tragedy that happened in Ukrainian city of Dneprodzerzhinsk. The tragedy sacrificed the lives of Pakhtakor Tashkent FK. On August 11, 1979 the biggest avian catastrophe happened in football history when two airplanes crashed. 178 passengers, among them 17 members of Uzbek club died. After this tragedy every club playing in the championship and among them FC Dinamo Tbilisi (Zurab Tsereteli) sent their footballers to Paskhtakor and expressed condolences to the dead members of the club. Next year Manuchar Machaidze also played in Pakhtakor Tashkent FK.
