Our rival - Crvena Zvezda

Dinamo Tbilisi will hold the third friendly match at the Turkish camp tomorrow. The rival of our team, the leader of the Serbian Super League and one of the most titled teams in Europe will be FK Crvena Zvezda, commonly known as Red Star.

The Belgrade team was founded in 1945 by the Yugoslav Youth Sports Association. The sports community united 7 types. Red Star plays its home matches at the Rajko Mitić Stadium in the capital of Serbia. The capacity of "Maracana" is designed for 55,500 fans. The club colors are red and white.

Red Star is the only eastern European team that managed to win the Champions Cup and the Intercontinental Cup. In 1991, Belgraders won the main European club title in a match against Olympique de Marseille, and at the end of the same year, they won the Intercontinental Cup against Colo-Colo of Chile. In 1979, Crvena Zvezda reached the finals of the UEFA Cup, losing 1-2 to Borussia Münchengladbach.

Crvena Zvezda is also the leading club in the domestic arena. The first league of Yugoslavia, which was held until 1992, with 19 titles, and the cup draw with 12 titles was finished by the Reds. They won the Yugoslav Supercup twice, and the League Cup once. The team won the Serbia-Montenegro league for 5 times, and the cup for 9 times. As for the Serbian championship - here Red Star shares the championship title with Partizan 8/8, and our future rival lifted the cup for 4 times.

The red and white jersey has been worn by such legends of Serbian and Yugoslav football as: Rajko Mitić, Dragoslav Šekularac, Dragan Jaić, Vladimir Petrović, Dragan Stojović, Vladimir Jugović, Robert Prosinečki, Dejan Savićević, Sinisa Mihajlović, Perica Ognienović, Dejan Stanković, Nemanja Vidić, etc.

In the current championship, after 19 rounds, Tsrvena Zvezda is the leader of the draw with 53 points, 10 points ahead of its main competitor - FC Partizan. Belgraders finished last in the group stage of the Europa League. Monaco and Ferencvaros shared the places in the group with 10/10 points. Trabzonspor came in third.

The paths of Dinamo and Crvena Zvezda crossed in the third stage of the Europa League in 2009. On July 30, Dinamo won the Tbilisi match 2-0 with the goals of Giorgi Merebashvili and Levan Khmaladze. On August 6, the hosts won 5-2 at Maracana. Mate Vatsadze added an effective shot to Lekich's own goal in the first half.

The Serbs have been on the camp in Turkey since January 8 and managed to hold three friendly matches. On January 15, Zvezda won 3-1 against Gdańsk Lekhia, and on January 19, they beat Baku Neftchi 1-0. On January 21, they also beat Slovenian Koper with a minimal score of 1-0. From 2022, local football specialist - Milos Milojevic works as the head coach of Belgraders.

Irakli Azarovi, a young player of the Georgian national team, brought up by Dinamo Academy plays in Red Star since 2022.
