Today Vitali Daraselia 1st International Tournament has finished at Dinamo Arena. Dutch team AZ Alkmaar won the tournament that defeated Dinamo Tbilisi in the final.
The match for the seventh place wasn’t held because Besiktas JK refused to play as its footballers were ill. So technical victory 3:0 was recorded in favor of Sheriff.
The match for the fifth place between Lechia and Dinamo 2 finished without goals. Vladimer Kakashvili’s team won penalties with the score 5:4. Zareba, Stefaniak, Kaczynski and Merchel scored from Lechia. From Dinamo Goga Lursmanashvili, Giorgi Tsertsvadze, Tornike Dzotsenidze, Irakli Azarovi and Giorgi Guldedava kicked exactly. Giorgi Mamardashvili repelled Wira’s kick. Finally Dinamo-2 took the fifth place on the tournament.
FC Locomotive and Trabzonspor competed for bronze medals. Georgian footballers couldn’t compete with the rival properly and lost the match with 4 unanswered goals. Cumur (2), Akgun and Senivc scored.
Dinamo Arena hosted the final between AZ Alkmaar and Dinamo Arena. The final was very interesting and many people gathered at the stadium. Our team had priority during the whole match and Alkmaar played on counter attacks. In the beginning Dinamo had chance to score twice. Schendelaar repelled Kutsia’s kick at first and then Tamaz Babunadze kicked inexactly. Alkmaar created dangerous attack at the end of the first half. Dinamo tried to score in the second half but Alkmaar’s keeper played well. During the last minutes of the match our rival kicked from corner, Haas de received the ball with header and scored. After that Dinamo moved in attack and received one more goal, Boer de scored. After the match Dinamo Tbilisi was awarded with silver medals. Boadu received the trophy. Before than footballers were awarded with personal prizes. Jakobs (AZ Alkmaar) became the best player, Tamaz Babunadze was named as the best bombardier. Goalkeeper of AZ Alkmaar Schendelaar became the best goalkeeper. Tbilisi Football Federation awarded captain of Trabzonspor Sevinc with “fair play prize”.
