On Saturday, August 23, XXVI national championship III round match will be held in Zestafoni, Davit Abashidze stadium. FC Zestafoni and Dinamo Tbilisi will compete with each other. The match will start at 18:00 and Channel 1 of the Public Broadcaster will ensure live broadcast of the match.
Our rival
FC Zestafoni was established on June 18, 2004 and started to participate in XIV national championship from the same year. After that FC Zestafoni hasn’t left Umaghlesi Liga. Zestafoni plays home matches at Davit Abashidze stadium which is for 4 600 spectators. The main symbols of the club are mainly in blue and white. Zestafoni took the first trophy in 2007/2008 season when FC Zestafoni defeated FC Ameri Tbilisi with the score 2:1 in the final at Boris Paichadze national stadium and became the winners of Davit Kipiani Cup. In 2010/2011 season FC Zestafoni became Georgian champion and won the Super Cup in the same season. FC Zestafoni became champion of Georgia for the second and last time in 2011/2012. In 2013/2014 season Zestafoni became vice-champion of Georgia.

Gia Geguchadze is the head coach of Zestafoni from November, 2013. Our rival has played many successful seasons under his leadership. In 2013/2014 season Zestafoni became vice-champion of Georgia.
Before Dinamo…
Zestafoni took the second place in the last championship and got right to play on Europa League. In the second qualifying round Zestafoni competed with Spartak Trnava. The first leg finished with the score 0:0 in Imereti. The second leg finished with the victory of the host team-3:0. In the first round of XXVI national championship Zestafoni defeated FC Guria with the score 6:0. In the second round Chikhura defeated Gia Geguchadze’s team with the score 2:1.
Zestafoni VS Dinamo
Dinamo Tbilisi and FC Zestafoni have played 33 matches during the history. Dinamo has won for 18 times, Zestafoni succeeded for 9 times and 6 matches ended in draw. The goal difference is 48/31 in favor of our team.
Dinamo-Zestafoni matches with the score 1:0 for 10 times. Many goals were scored in 4 matches. On May 18, 2013 in the last round of XXIV championship Dinamo defeated Zestafoni with the score 6:1. The last match Giorgi Vadachkoria judged with the participation of Dinamo was held on May 11 in which our team competed with FC Sioni Bolnisi and defeated the rival with the score 3:0. Vadachkoria booked the players for 6 times.
