The outstanding coach in the history of Dinamo Tbilisi Gavril Kachalin would turn 103 years old today. The honorable master of sports and coach of Soviet Union and Georgia led Dinamo in 1964-1965 and 1971-1972 years. Under his leadership our team became the champion of Soviet Union for the first time. In 1964 he won gold medals. In 1971 and 1972 he took the third place. Gavril Kachalin is the only coach who led Soviet team on three (1958, 1962, 1970) world championships. He is the champion of Olympiad in 1956 and took the first place in Europe in 1960. Gavril Kachalin died on May 23, 1995.
