Dinamo Samarqand was founded in 1960. The Uzbek team plays its home matches at the 14,000-seat Dinamo Stadium. The club colors are blue and yellow.
In different years, the team changed its name many times - Dinamo, Spartak, Sogdiana, Stroitel, Marokand, Afrosiob and Dinamo again.
The club showed its best result in 2016, when it became the champion of Uzbekistan Pro League.
Our future rival started the preparatory stage in Abu Dhabi. On January 18, they played against Rostov and lost 1-4, on January 21 they lost to Zenit 1-5, and on January 23 they beat the Qatar U23 national team 2-0. On January 26 they drew 2-2 with Al Faiha and on January 28 they also drew 1-1 with Al Shabaab. Then the Uzbek team went to Turkey and lost 1-3 against Volgar on February 10.
Vadim Abramov, a 71-year-old local football specialist, works as the head coach of the team.
