Our rival – FK Shkupi

Dinamo Tbilisi will hold the sixth friendly match at the Turkish camp tomorrow. The rivalof our team will be the champion of Macedonia – FK Shkupi.

The Skopje team was founded in 1927 and competed under the name Sloga Yugomagnat until 2012, after which the team was renamed to Shkupi. Shkupi plays at the 16,000-seat Chair Stadium and the club colors are white and blue.

Shkupi became the national champion for the first time in the 2021/2022 season, and this is the best achievement in the history of this team. A year earlier, the Skopje team took second place in the draw. In the current championship, with 34 points accumulated from 16 matches, they occupy the second place in the tournament table, three points behind the first place Struga, although they have one match to play.

FK Shkupi opened the current Euro season in the summer with a victory over Lincoln of Gibraltar. In the second round of the qualifying stage of the Champions League, the Skopje team lost to Dinamo Zagreb, which was followed by a defeat against the Irish Shamrock Rovers in the third qualifying stage of the Europa League. Finally, the Macedonian team lost to Kosovo Balkan in the conference league playoffs.

The Macedonians have been at the Turkish camp since January 28, and this is the second phase of their preparations. Before going to Antalya, our future opponent went through preparations in Ohrid. On January 16, Shkupi sparred with Pobeda and defeated his opponent 4-2. The goals were scored by Mario Mladenovski, Walid Hamidi, Angel Timovski and Gagi Margvelashvili. Gagi Margvelashvili moved from Dinamo Batumi to Macedonia a year ago. On January 31, Shkupi sparred with Oleksandria of Ukraine in Antalya and won 2-1. Pepi Gorgiev and Quin Inacio scored the goals. Goce Sedloski, a local football specialist and former player of the Macedonian national team, has been working as the head coach of Shkupi since 2021.
