Nodar Akhalkatsi is the legendary coach of the legendary team. Creator of the most popular period of our team would turn 84 years old today. Master of sports and honored coach led Dinamo Tbilisi in 1976-1983 and 1985-1986. Under his leadership our team won all the trophies. In 1978 our players won gold medals and in 1977 took the second place in Soviet championship. In spring-autumn 1976 and 1981 our team won bronze medals. He is the owner of Soviet Crystal Cup for two times in 1976 and 1979. The biggest success in his career was to win Cup Winners’ Cup on May 13, 1981. It’s also worth mentioning that in 1982 Dinamo succeeded to the semi-final of the same tournament. Nodar Akhalkatsi was awarded by FIFA and UEFA for his merit in development of football. He was the first president of Georgian Football federation. Nodar Akhalkatsi died on January 25, 1998.
