Our rival
FC Samtredia was established in 1936. For years FC Locomotive Samtredia successfully played in Soviet championship second league. Afterwards the club played under different names (Samtredia, Sanavardo, Iberia) in Georgian championship. The team plays home matches at Erosi Manjgaladze stadium with the capacity of 3000 spectators. The main colors of the club are in white and blue. Samtredia achieved the biggest victory in 1994-1996 years. In 1995 the team took the second place in national championship. During its history different famous footballers have played in Samtredia. They are: Tariel Dvalishvili, Deviz Darjania, Piruz Kanteladze, Givi Babunidze, Temur Dzagnidze, Sergei Shvetsov, Zaza Janashia, Kakhi Gogichaishvili, Gia and Mikheil Jishkariani, Giorgi Daraselia, Zurab Ionanidze, Grigol Chanturia and Kakhi Kaladze.

Zaza Zamtaradze is the head coach of FC Samtredia since November 2014. The team finished national championship on the sixth place with 45 points and will play in Georgian Cup final.

FC Samtredia started the 1/16 final of Georgian Cup with the match against FC Betlemi Kedi and defeated the rival with the score 7:1 on aggregate. In 1/8 final FC Samtredia lost the first leg with FC Dinamo Batumi 1:4 and won the second leg 3:0.
