Today, the semi-final match of Georgian Super Cup was held at the Mikheil Meskhi stadium, in which FC Dinamo hosted FC Dila.
After a 9-year break, Giorgi Loria returned to the capital team, and Gagi Margvelashvili made his debut with a blue-white kit. The first half of the match was tough and the home team had the upper hand. Half an hour after the start of the game, Zoran Marušić was injured and Levan Osikmashvili, who also returned to Dinamo, appeared on the field in his place, and the half ended without any scored goals.
In the second half, the rhythm of the game and the rain increased together. Dinamo could have advanced in the debut, but Giorgi Kharaishvili's shot was blocked by Yevgeny Kucherenko, and Barnes Osei missed the goal on the rebound. On the 72nd minute of the match, Imran Oulad Omar opened the score with a powerful shot. In the next attack, a beautiful combination of Tbilisi ended with an inaccurate shot. Finally, in the period compensated by the referee, FC Dila managed to restore the difference, the goal was scored by Honore Gomis.
According to the regulation, a series of post-match penalties was appointed, in which Giorgi Loria showed his class once again and saved two shots. Jimi Tabidze, Giorgi Kharaishvili, Barnes Osei and Jaduli Iobashvili scored goals from Dinamo. Dinamo won 4-2 in the penalty shootout and won a ticket to the Super Cup final. The decisive match will be played against FC Dinamo Batumi on July 4.
