Locomotive vs Dinamo – Before the match

FC Dinamo Tbilisi will compete with FC Locomotive in 27th national championship second round match at Mikheil Meskhi stadium. The match will start at 20:00 and official web-page of Dinamo Tbilisi will offer text and video live of the match.

Our rival

FC Locomotive was established in 1936. It was Lokomotiv Voluntary Sports Society that united employees of the railway as well as students and pupils of educational institutions of railway ministry. The team plays home matches at Mikheil Meskhi stadium that is for 25 000 spectators. The main colors of the team are red and white. In 1988-1989 it was called OMC Locomotive, in 1990-1993 FC Merani and in 1993-1995, Lokomotivi merged with Merani and formed Merani-Bacho Tbilisi. Our rival played in USSR high (1993 and 1940), first (1939, 1946-1948, 1959-1970) and second leagues (1936-1937, 1981-1982, 1984-1986, 1988-1989). For the first time it played in Umaghlesi Liga in 1997. FC Locomotive won Georgian Cup thrice in 2000, 2002 and 2005 years. In 2001, 2002 and 1999 it won silver medals.

Coach and Locomotive

Since January 2014 Vasil Maisuradze is the head coach of FC Locomotive. Under his leadership the team moved to high league. From 36 matches the team gathered 68 points and took the second place in Pirveli Liga first group. It defeated FC Borjomi in penalties 4:2, as the match finished with draw 3:3. It overcame FC Metalurgi 5:0. Vasil Maisuradze trained Dinamo reserve and second teams in 2011-2013 years. He won championship with reserve team. He was the head coach of U17 and U19 teams.

Before Dinamo

FC Locomotive was on camp in Austria where it played several test-matches. It lost with Turkish football club Eskişehirspor 1:7, defeated Maccabi Petah Tikva F.C. 2:1 and lost with Al-Jazira Club 1:3. After that our rival defeated Nogometni Klub Celje 5:1, played draw with NGK Dinamo Zagreb second team 2:2. After returning in Georgia it defeated FC Sioni 3:1 in sparring match. In the first round of 27th national championship FC Locomotive lost against FC Chikhura in Ivantsminda with minimal score 0:1. It played the last match on Georgian Cup against FC Tskhinvali and lost it with the score 0:1.

Dinamo vs Locomotive – Head to head

Dinamo Tbilisi and Locomotive Tbilisi are traditional rivals. These teams have competed for 39 times in Umaghlesi Liga. From them our team won for 22 times, lost 6 and 11 matches finished with draw. The goal difference is 54/21 in favor of our team.

Dinamo has defeated FC Locomotive with big score twice. On April 30, 1997 our team defeated the rival with the score 4:0. Davit Mujiri performed hattrick. Giorgi Kiknadze also scored. For the second time our team defeated the rival with big score on September 19, 1999. From four scored goals, Mikheil Ashvetia performed double, Klimenti Tsitaishvili and Robert Zirakishvili also scored. Dinamo was defeated with big score once on September 23, 2000. Locomotive won 3:0. The match distinguished with many goals took place on May 10, 2008. Our team defeated Locomotive in the last round with the score 6:5. Mate Vatsadze and Mikheil Khutsishvili performed double. Besides them George Akirem and Levan Khmaladze also scored. The most popular result is 1:0 that was recorded for 13 times. From 11 draw 10 of them finished without goals. Mate Vatsadze has scored 6 goals against Locomotive.

The last match between these teams took place on May 15, 2010 at Mikheil Meskhi stadium. Our team defeated the rival with the score 3:0. Mate Vatsadze performed double. Robertinho also scored in this match.

Disqualified footballers

Dinamo’s Brazilian footballer Rene will miss the match tomorrow because of a red card received on the last match.

Locomotive vs Dinamo – Referee

Lasha Silagava will judge Umaghlesi Liga II round match between FC Dinamo Tbilisi and FC Locomotive which will take place at Mikheil Meskhi stadium. B.Chichinadze and I.Machitadze will be his assistants. B.Gluschuk will be the fourth official.

The last match Lasha Silagava judged was held on August 14 between Dinamo Batumi and Zugdidi and finished with the victory of FC Dinamo Batumi 5:0. Silagava showed three yellow cards.
