FC Dinamo Tbilisi has played Georgian Cup final for 15th time in its history and won the trophy for 13th time. Besides this the most titled club of Georgia became champion and won Georgian Cup together for 10th time. Slovak coach of our team Juraj jarabek became the fourth foreigner coach in the history of Georgian football who gained this trophy. Before him Anatoly Piskovec (FC Gagra), Ivo Shushak and Dushan Uhrin junior won Georgian Cup. Giorgi Kvilitaia became bombardier of the tournament with 5 goals scored.
Before the final preparation process was underway. It was the first time that capital city didn’t host the final and it was held in Kutaisi. President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili and other representatives of government attended the match. In spite of rainy weather many spectators gathered at the stadium. 159th match for Dinamo on Georgian Cup went on hardly and finished successfully. Both teams played in the center. On 14th minute FC Sioni created the first dangerous moment when Guram Giorbelidze kicked with header but inexactly. Dinamo answered with dangerous attack on 27th minute. Aleksandre Iashvili passed to Giorgi Kvilitaia who tried to score with header, but Mirza Merlani repelled. After that our team gained priority and in two minutes Vakho Tchanturishvili scored the only goal of the match. Sioni footballers created one more moment in the first half but without result. Otar Kakabadze strained the match for several times. On 15th minute of the second half captain of our team kicked, although he was inexact. On 67th minute Giorgi Vasadze kicked, but the ball overcame our door and Dinamo was saved. Nikoloz Gelashvili entered the field. On the last minutes of the match he attacked from left wing and kicked, but failed to score. In the next episode he attacked again, but Guram Giorbelidze stopped him and received red card. The match finished soon and Dinamo celebrated its 13th trophy together with supporters.
Dinamo Tbilisi captain Aleksandre Iashvili and central Defender Giorgi Gvelesiani won the trophy for fourth time. Organizers named Vakhtang Tchanturishvili as the best player of the final.
