Our rival
FC Samtredia was established in 1936. For years FC Locomotive Samtredia successfully played in Soviet championship second league. Afterwards the club played under different names (Samtredia, Sanavardo, Iberia) in Georgian championship. The team plays home matches at Erosi Manjgaladze stadium with the capacity of 3000 spectators. The main colors of the club are in white and blue. Samtredia achieved the biggest victory in 1994-1996 years. In 1995 the team took the second place in national championship. After 20 years our rival played Georgian Cup final and lost with FC Dinamo Tbilisi with the score 0:5. FC Samtredia finished the last championship (2016 autumn) on the first place and won gold medals for the first time in its history. During its history different famous footballers have played in Samtredia. They are: Tariel Dvalishvili, Deviz Darjania, Piruz Kanteladze, Givi Babunidze, Temur Dzagnidze, Sergei Shvetsov, Zaza Janashia, Kakhi Gogichaishvili, Gia and Mikheil Jishkariani, Giorgi Daraselia, Zurab Ionanidze, Grigol Chanturia and Kakhi Kaladze.
Coach and Samtredia
Giorgi Tsetsadze is the head coach of FC Samtredia since June 2015. Under his leadership the team finished 2016 year national championship on the first place. Today our rival is on the third place with 42 points gained in 21 matches.
Before Dinamo …
FC Samtredia started the new season with winning Georgian Super Cup. It defeated FC Torpedo with the score 2:1. In Erovnuli Liga our rival played the match against FC Shukura that finished with draw 1:1. Then it lost with FC Chikhura Sachkhere 0:1 and defeated FC Dinamo Batumi with the score 1:0. On Georgian Cup FC Samtredia competed with FC Wit Georgia and in 1/16 final and won the match with the score 2:1. Then our rival lost with our team 0:2, defeated FC Saburtalo 2:1, lost with FC Torpedo 0:2, defeated FC Kolkheti Poti 2:1, played draw 0:0 against FC Locomotive, lost with FC Torpedo in Georgian Cup 1/8 final, defeated FC Dila 2:1, FC Shukura 2:0, FC Chikhura 2:1 and FC Dinamo Batumi 2:0. After that FC Samtredia lost with FC Dinamo Tbilisi 2:3, defeated FC Saburtalo 3:2, lost with FC Torpedo 1:2, played draw 1:1 with FC Kolkheti Poti, defeated FC Locomotive 1:0 and FC Dila Gori 3:2. Then FC Samtredia lost with FC Karabakh in Baku 0:5 in Champions League second qualifying round and lost the second leg match in Tbilisi 0:1 at Dinamo Arena. Our rival won in the last three rounds and defeated FC Shukura 4:1, FC Chikhura Sachkhere 3:0 and FC Dinamo Batumi 1:0.
Samtredia – Dinamo
Dinamo and Samtredia have played 35 matches against each other. Our rival played the first three championships with the name Sanavardo. In 1998-2001 the club was called-Iberia. Our team has defeated FC Samtredia for 27 times, lost 5 and 3 match finished with draw. The goal difference is 85/22 in favor of our team. Dinamo defeated Samtredia with 5 and more goal difference for 5 times. In 1991 Dinamo defeated the rival with the score 6:0. Kavelashvili performed hattrick and Ketsbaia, Inalishvili and Revishvili also scored. In 1996 our team won with the same score. Iashvili (2), Kerdzevadze, Demetradze, Inalishvili and Khomeriki scored. In two years Dinamo won with the score 7:2. Besides Ashvetia’s and Shengelia’s double, Kiknadze, Mujiri and Lursmanashvili also scored. In 2000 the match between these teams finished with the score 5:0. Gadelia, Datvadze, Sakhvadze, Gogoladze and Zirakishvili scored. In 2011 Dinamo defeated Samtredia with the score 7:1. Levan Khmaladze and Donald Juice performed doubles. Jelich, Arziani and Khumarashvili (auto-goal) also scored. The majority of matches have finished with the score 1:0 (for 7 times). From them Dinamo won five matches and Samtredia won twice. The last match in between these teams in Erovnuli Liga was held on May 21, 2017 at Dinamo Arena. Dinamo won this match with the score 3:2. Bachana Arabuli (2) and Luka Lochoshvili scored.
