On September 17 FC Dinamo Tbilisi will play UEFA Europa League second qualifying round against Connah's Quay. The match will take place in Wrexham at Racecourse Ground.
Racecourse Ground is located in Wrexham, North Wales. The capacity of the stadium is 10 700 spectators The Racecourse Ground is the largest stadium in north Wales and the fifth largest in Wales. The ground is sometimes used by the Football Association of Wales for home international games. The ground has also been used by North Wales Crusaders rugby league club, Scarlets rugby union club and Liverpool Reserves. In the early days, the ground was used for cricket and horse racing. Music concerts returned to the Racecourse in 2016 when the Stereophonics performed.
Racecourse Ground is thought to be one of the ancient stadiums in the world that hosts international matches. Arena, opened in 1807 year started to host matches in 1864. Welsh national team played on this stadium in 1877. In 1957 year record number of spectators attended the match when Wrexham hosted Manchester United. 34 445 spectators attended the match.
In 2014 year Racecourse Ground was reconstructed. The turf was changed. Irrigation systems and dressing rooms for footballers and officials were also fully rehabilitated. Medical equipment and seats for disabled people were renewed. Finally the stadium gained UEFA III category and the right to host international matches.
The Kop stand is considered to be the biggest standing tribune in Britain. Town End is with the capacity of 5000 spectators. Yale stand was constructed in 1972 and has capacity of 4200 spectators. Dressing rooms and office of the club is located under this stand. Glyndwr University stand holds 2,800 spectators and provides the supporters with excellent views of the pitch and excellent acoustics. Mold Road stand is the newest stand, capacity 3,500, was secured with lottery funding, and built over the old Mold Road stand in 1999. The stand possesses a TV studio and eight fully equipped private boxes, and has a restaurant called "The Changing Rooms"; there is also a club shop which is run by the Supporters' Trust adjacent to the stand. The first concert held at the stadium was held in July 1982. Motörhead headlined, with support from Twisted Sister, making their first ever UK appearance. Stereophonics, Catfish and the Bottlemen and UB40 also performed at the stadium.
