Our rival
FC Telavi was founded on June 19, 2016. The team plays home matches at legendary Givi Chokheli stadium, although at this stage the stadium is under reconstruction and the match against Dinamo will be held at Kavkasioni Arena. FC Telavi started from Regional League and moved to the Third League. In 2017 they finished on the third place and defeated FC Guria in play-off (2-1, 1-1). In 2018 FC Telavi continued progress and although couldn’t take the leading positions in Liga-2, but played in Georgian Cup semi-final. In the semi-final our rival lost with FC Torpedo Kutaisi with minimal score 0:1. In 2019 FC Telavi took the third place in Liga-2 and defeated FC Rustavi in play-off (1-0, 2-1). Thus, FC Telavi moved to Umaghlesi Liga and after 2006/2007 season will play there for the first time.FC Telavi finished 2020 season on the sixth place.
Coach
Several days ago Georgian football specialist Giorgi Mikadze became head coach of FC Telavi. His team is on the lats place in the table with 8 points gained in 13 matches.
Dinamo and Telavi have competed twice in friendly matches so far. The first match that ended with the score 1:1 was held on January 20, 2019 at Digomi training ground (goals were scored by Fran Karbia and Lasha Kukujanashvili) and on November 15 the match finished without goals at Dinamo Arena. As for the official matches, in the 2020 season, these teams met twice and both teams finished without goals. On March 20, 2021 Dinamo defeated the rival with the score 3:0. Zoran Marusic, Fabian Sporkslede and Milan Radin scored.

Bakar Ninua will be referee. G.Elikashvili and S.Spicin will be his assistants. A.Aptsiauri will be the fourth official. Telavi footballer Piruz Marakvelidze will miss the match because of disqualification.
