Our rival - Dynamo Kyiv

Today Dinamo Tbilisi will hold the fourth match on camp. Our team will compete with one of the Eastern European football grands and the current champion of Ukraine Dynamo Kyiv. The match will be held in Belek and will start at 18.00 Tbilisi time. Live coverage will be available on Setanta Sports TV channels, Facebook and Youtube platforms.

 

Dynamo Kyiv was founded in 1927. The club colors are blue and white. Home matches are played by Dynamo at the Kiev Olympic Stadium, which has a capacity of 70,000 spectators. Dynamo Kyiv is the most titled club in the post-Soviet countries and is currently the only one in tandem with our team to have never left the Premier League. The club is on the second place in its championship 45 points after 18 matches.

 

Dynamo Kyiv won the USSR championship for 13 times (record), became the vice-champion for 11 times and took three bronze medals. The Blue and Whites have won the Crystal Cup for 9 times and the USSR Super Cup for three times. Dinamo is the record holder of Ukraine with 16 times won the championship title and 13 times won the national cup. The people of Kiev celebrated the victory of the Ukrainian Super Cup 9 times. In the international arena, our next rival won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup twice, in 1975 and 1986. In 1975, Dynamo Kyiv also won the UEFA Super Cup and won the CIS Cup four times. As for the Champions League, Dinamo reached the semi-finals of this tournament three times in 1977, 1987 and 1999. In 2009 he played in the Europa League at the same stage.

 

Our rival held their first meeting since January 17 in Spain. The first sparring match with Atletico Pulpilenio ended 4-0 on January 21, and the next day Luxembourg Racing was beaten by the same score. On January 25, Kiev beat Murcia 3-1, and on January 27, they played 1-1 with Norwegian Bodio Glim.

From January 31, the Ukrainians continued the second stage of preparations in Turkey and sparred with Ludogorets on the same day. The Ukrainians won the match 4-1. On February 2, Dinamo played Serbian Chukaric and won 2-1. Two days later, the Kievans met the Bulgarian Levski and drew 1-1. On February 7, Dinamo defeated Rudar of Montenegro 1-0.

 

Mircea Lucescu, a well-known Romanian football specialist, is working as the head coach of Dinamo for the second season already.
