Georgian national team will hold two friendly matches on March 25 and 29. Willy Sagnol’s team will play against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania.

The head coach called one Dinamo player for the next matches, Anzor Mekvabishvili will join the national team. This is the debut call for the vice-captain of the Tbilisi club, the young midfielder was included in the application of the Georgian national team for the first time.

20 years old Anzor Mekvabishvili started playing football at Dinamo Academy and started his professional football career in Dinamo. His debut in the main team took place in the 2020 season. As for his national team career, Anzor Mekvabishvili has experience of playing in all age teams of Georgia, and before being called up to the national team, he was the captain of the U21 team.

Anzor Mekvabishvili made a small comment about his first match in the national team:

Anzor Mekvabishvili: I am very happy, of course, I have always dreamed of playing for the national team and it is difficult to describe the first emotions. I am glad that I have played many matches in the age teams and I think this experience will help me.

Of course I thank Willy Sagnol, first and foremost for giving Erovnuli Liga players a chance and I am not the first on this list and I believe that others will be given a chance in the future.

Playing for a national team is a big challenge, my goal is to play at the highest level and convince the fans that this invitation is not accidental.
