Our rival
Gagra Football Club was founded in 2004. Gagreli club colors are decided in blue and white. This season, the team will play home matches at Petro Arena. In the first league, Gagra was always at the top of the table, but he could not move to the top. In 2007, they lost to Sachkhere Chikhura in the playoffs, and in 2008 to Tskhinvali Spartak. On May 31, 2008, the Professional Football League Board considered the issue of Chiatura Miner, the winner of the Premier League, the winner of the First League, and because the Imereti Club failed to meet the licensing criteria and failed to provide financial guarantees, it was deprived of the right to participate in the 2008/2009 national championship of the higher league and Gagra, who has a higher league license, was allowed instead. The 2010-2011 season was remarkable for Gagra in every way: The team became the first league champion and the owner of the country cup. The team has not had such a successful season since its inception. In 2011, the team won a trip to the Premier League without any problems, won the Georgian Cup and the youth team made its debut at the European tournaments, where it met Anorthosis of Cyprus. Gagreli lost the away match with the score 0-3, but in Zestaponi they defeated the rival 2-0 with the goals of Giorgi Gabedava and Giorgi Tkeshelashvili.
Gagra is back in the major leagues after a ten-year hiatus. The team finished Erovnuli Liga 2 on second place last year. It defeated FC Shukura Kobuleti and moved to Erovnuli Liga.
