Our rival
FC Zestafoni was established on June 18, 2004 and started to participate in XIV national championship from the same year. After that FC Zestafoni hasn’t left Umaghlesi Liga. Zestafoni plays home matches at Davit Abashidze stadium which is for 4 600 spectators. The main symbols of the club is mainly in blue and white. Zestafoni took the first trophie in 2007/2008 season when FC Zestafoni defeated FC Ameri Tbilisi with the score 2:1 in the final at Boris Paichadze national stadium and became the winners of Davit Kipiani Cup. In 2010/2011 season FC Zestafoni became Georgian champion and won the super cup in the same season. FC Zestafoni became champion of Georgia for the second and last time in 2011/2012. At that time Jaba Dvali, who plays in Dinamo today, became the bombardier with 20 scored goals.
Coach and Zestafoni
After the end of last season the coach of FC Zestafoni Kakha Kacharava was replaced by 53 year-old Serbian specialist Ratko Dostanic. He used to be the coach of Serbian Crvena Zvezda, Beograd, Bezanija and Sremska Mitrovica, Greek Veria and Diagora, Macedonian Vardar and Bulgarian Levski Sofia. Zestafoni has played 4 matches with the leadership of Ratko Dostanic. While camp in Turkey Zestafoni defeated two Turkmenistan teams-Altyn Asyr 3:0 and Balkan 1:0. They finished match with Turkish Adanaspor and Manisaspor with the score 0:0. Tomorrow new caoch of Zestafoni will have the first official match in Georgia.
From Dinamo to Dinamo
FC Zestafoni finished XXIV national championship with the match with Dinamo Tbilisi in which Dusan Uhrin’s team defeated them with the score 6:1. After that Zestafoni has played 4 friendly matches at Turkish camp: Zestafoni 3:0 Altyn Asyr (Turkmenistan), Zestafoni 1:0 Balkan (Turkmenistan), Zestafoni 0:0 Asanaspor (Turkey), Zestafoni 0:0 Manisaspor (Turkey).
