On May 28-June 1 Dinamo Academy hosted Nodar Akhalkatsi tournament. The tournament, organized by Tbilisi Football Federation, was held for 12th time this year. Local and foreign teams participated in the tournament held among footballers aged 9,10 and 11 years. Dinamo played with two teams (academy and school) in all three age categories.
Dinamo U9 team under the leadership of Mikheil Okitashvili defeated FC Dila on group stage with the score 10:1, FC Lions Tbilisi-6:0 and FC Bendela Saburtalo-8:0. In quarter final academy defeated Dinamo school-4:0, FC Vikings Tbilisi-8:0 and in the final our team competed with FC Saburtalo and won the match with Andria Sikharulidze’s goal-1:0. It’s worth mentioning that all the three finals were held between Dinamo and Saburtalo.
Dinamo U10 team started the tournament with the victory against Nalchik-7:2. After that Shalva Kvaratskhelia’s team defeated FC Bendela Saburtalo-4:0, FC Liakhvi-7:0, FC Champion Tbilisi-2:1. In quarter final our team competed with FC Vikings and defeated it with the score 8:0. The semi-final was held against FC Bunyodkor. The full time finished with draw 2:2 and Dinamo won in penalties. The final with FC Saburtalo also finished with Dinamo’s victory in penalties.
In U11 tournament Dinamo school played the final. Zura Eliava’s and Dato Gelashvili’s team defeated FC Martve Kutaisi on group stage-1:0, FC Dinamo Martvili-4:0 and FC Bendela Saburtalo-1:1. In quarter final our team defeated FC Vikings -5:0. The same score was recorded in semi-final against FC Iveria Khashuri. As for final, it finished with Dinamo’s victory in penalties again.
Thus Dinamo teams gained gold medals in all the three age categories and finished Akhalkatsi Cup with triumph. Dinamo players were also awarded with individual prizes: Nika Tarashvili was named as the best U9 goalkeeper. Irakli Khvichia became the best footballers in the same age category. Giorgi Gergedava became the best U10 footballers and Buka Kvaratskhelia was named as the best U11 goalkeeper.
