According to the decision of Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Georgian honorable journalist Tengiz Gachechiladze was awarded with the title of Knight of Sports connected to his jubilee.
FC Dinamo Tbilisi congratulates Tengiz Gachechiladze on the birthday and on receiving the title, that is the first in sports journalism. We wish him health and longevity. Tengiz Gachechiladze is involved in sports journalism since 1958 year. During 30 years he was chief editor of sports newspaper Lelo. He is one of the founders of Georgian Olympic Committee, laureate of Niko Nikoladze and Mikheil Kakabadze awards, Knight of the National Order of Merit and Georgian National Olympic Committee, author of several books and publications.
Tengiz Gachechiladze is the only Georgian journalist, who was accredited at 14 winter and summer Olympic games, that is a record number. It’s worth mentioning that he was the head of the first Georgian Olympic mission at Lillehammer Olympic Games.
