The canaries was established in 1912 and it plays at Hristo Botev stadium with the capacity of 18 700spectators. Main colors of the team are black and yellow. Botev is the ancient in Bulgaria among acting clubs. The team is named after the Bulgarian national hero Hristo Botev. The name was changed for several times during years and in different times it was called DNV, DNA, SKNA and Trakia.
Botev Plovdiv became National League champions for two times in 1929 and 1967 years. In 1962, 1981 and 2017 years the canaries won National Cup. In 2017 Botev also won Super Cup. In 1972, the team became winner of the Balkans Cup for the first time, playing against Yugoslavian Velež Mostar.
Bulgarians are on camp in Turkey since January 16. Our rival played the first friendly match against FC Maritsa Plovdiv and defeated the rival with the score 6:0. On January 18 Botev lost with FC Oleksandriya-0:4. Local football specialist Ferario Spasov is the head coach of PFC Botev Plovdiv.
