Our Rival
FC Merani Martvili was founded on the basis of FC Salkhino established in 1955. FC Merani Martvili plays in Pirveli Liga since 1997. In 2007/2008 the team had chance to move to Umaghlesi Liga but finished the championship on the third place and stayed in Pirveli Liga. The same happened in 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 years. In 2009/2010 FC Merani played on ½ final match of Davit Kipiani Cup in which he was defeated by Wit Georgia with the score 1:2 after two legs (1:0 / 0:2). In 2010/2011 season our rival took the second place in Pirveli Liga and got right to move to Umaghlesi Liga. 2011/2012 season was successful for FC Merani as it finished the championship on the fifth place in Umaghlesi Liga.

Georgian football specialist Badri Kvaratskhelia leads FC Merani since October 2015. Under his leadership our rival is on the 14th place with 11 points gained from 18 matches.
Before Dinamo…
FC Merani started the second stage with victory against FC Torpedo Kutaisi 2:1. Then was draw 1:1 with FC Tskhinvali and victory with FC Chikhura Sachkhere 3:2. Before that our rival was on camp in Turkey and played four sparring matches against FC Young boys reserves 1:1, lost with Kinik Spor 2:3, was defeated by FC Pirin 2:3 and played draw with FC Montana 1:1.

The first match between Dinamo Tbilisi and Merani Martvili was held on September 25, 2011. The match took place at training base of Georgian national team and finished with the victory of Dinamo Tbilisi-2:1. Aleksandre Koshkadze and Davit Odikadze scored.
