On March 23, 1912 legendary defender of our team and the first captain of our team in Soviet championship, honorable master of sports Shota Shavgulidze was born. He played in Dinamo Tbilisi in 1931-1940 and had played 112 matches during this period. Shota Shavgulidze is the owner of silver medal of 1939 and 1940 Soviet championships and prizeman of 1936 year. In 1936 and 1937 years he was the captain of the team in Crystal Cup final matches. He is the player of Georgian and TransCaucasus national teams. In 1941-1945 and 1962 he was the manager of the team and in 1945-1946 he was Dinamo’s coach. Shota Shavgulidze died on January 22, 1963.
