In January 2004 Dinamo Tbilisi won one more important trophy. After eleven years we will remember international tournament –CIS CUP held for the 12thtime on which our team won all the matches and finally received medals.
On January 17-25 Moscow hosted CIS Cup. Champion of Georgia Dinamo Tbilisi under the leadership of Ivo Shushak won the tournament. After draw our team appeared among Zhashtyk Kyrgyzstan, Skonto Latvia and Pavlodar Kazakhstan in the group.
Our team played the first match of the group stage on January 17 against Zhashtyk and defeated the rival with the score 7:1. Vitali Daraselia Junior and Lado Burduli performed doubles. Sandro Iashvili, Rati Aleksidze and Davit Kvirkvelia also scored. In this match Dinamo Tbilisi played with the following lineup:

The second match of the group stage was held on January 18. The match between Dinamo Tbilisi and Skonto Riga finished with draw-2:2. Sandro Iashvili and Levan Melkadze scored. In this match Dinamo Tbilisi played with the following lineup:

The final match was held on January 20. Our team defeated Irtish Pavlodar and won the match with the score 5:3. Vitali Daraselia Junior, Giorgi Anchabadze, Rati Aleksidze, Lado Burduli and Giorgi Shashiashvili scored. In this match Dinamo Tbilisi played with the following lineup:

After the success in group stage Dinamo Tbilisi competed with Gomeli Belarus in ¼ final and defeated the rival with the score 4:1. This match was held on January 22. Rati Aleksidze, Levan Melkadze, Giorgi Shashiashvili and Vitali Daraselia Junior scored. In this match Dinamo Tbilisi played with the following lineup:

On January 23 Dinamo Tbilisi defeated Sheriff Moldova with minimal score 2:1 in the semi-final match. Aleksandre Gogoberishvili and Vitali Daraselia Junior scored. In this match Ivo Shushak’s team played with the following lineup:

The final match was held on January 25. Our team competed with Skonto Riga. The first half finished with draw 1:1 but Georgian players had priority in the second half. Our footballers scored 2 goals. Finally the match finished with the score 3:1. Dinamo Tbilisi won CIS Cup. Vitali Daraselia Junior, Rati Aleksidze and Davit Kvirkvelia scored in the final match. The team played with the following lineup:

This was the tenth time Dinamo Tbilisi played on this tournament and was the first and the last Georgian team that won CIS Cup. Vitali Daraselia Junior became bombardier of the tournament with 6 scored goals. 2 players of Dinamo Tbilisi Mikheil Kavelashvili (with 14 scored goals) and Gela Inalishvili (11 goals) are among the ten bombardiers of CIS Cup.
