Dinamo has a new captain. After Giorgi Papava, Davit Skhirtladze will lead the team.
Davit Skhirtladze: "Dinamo is always expected the most in Georgia. This is a special club and the fans always expect success. Every year we are expected to win the championship, and not only that, Dinamo fans always want a spectacular game. Of course, in this situation, the captain has more responsibility. I think that I'm ready for it and I'll do my best to represent myself, my team and my city in the right way."
Davit Skhirtladze joined Dinamo for the first time at the final stage of the 2020 season, scored 3 goals and contributed to the championship of the blue-white team. Skhirtladze's next club was Danish Vyborg. The experienced forward returned to Dinamo in the fall of 2021, during which time he has 5 goals and 1 assist.
Davit Skhirtladze was a member of all age groups of Georgia, and he has played in national team for four times.
Anzor Mekvabishvili will be the vice-captain of the team, and Jimi Tabidze will be the second vice-captain .
The head coach of our team, Giorgi Tchiabrishvili commented on the new captain and vice-captains:
"Davit Skhirtladze has leadership qualities and at the same time he has great experience behind him. He has excellent communication with his teammates and has the right influence on young players. In my opinion, he has all the qualities that a Dinamo captain needs.
As for Anzor Mekvabishvili, he is a player brought up by our academy and it can be said that he is another successful project of Dinamo. I met him as a vice-captain in the team and I think he fully deserves it. Mekvabishvili has participated in all age groups and achieved what he has today with his own work. He is a member of the national team of Georgia, I think that all this is exemplary.
Jimi Tabidze will be the second vice-captain, he knows all my requirements well and, like Skhirtladze, he has accumulated a lot of experience. In addition, he is a very good person, has good communication skills and can lead a team. I think he is exemplary in our team with his behavior and professionalism."
